We’re local residents, and we’ve been customers of this car wash since it opened nearly 30 years ago. We are active, hands-on managers, and since we love the business and many of our customers are long-time friends and colleagues, we have fun coming to work! We understand your needs and expectations when you come to visit and we are always available to answer your requests, inquiries, or complaints – simply call or email us anytime.
While SPA does not recycle water, we do limit our water use to 25-35 gallons per vehicle, which outperforms virtually all our competition (industry averages 40-60 gallons). Recycled water is not desirable for the types of cars we typically service (e.g. Volvo, Mercedes, BMW, Toyota, and Range Rover among others) as small particulates (>.10mu) can damage the vehicle’s finish.
Among our many services, we wipe down all your door jams, and we use lint-free surgical towels to clean your windows. SPA clients also have the option to receive quick detailing services after your vehicle is washed, where SPA staff drive your car around to our detail bays for extra interior cleaning, wheel details, hand waxes, and other services while you wait.
We’re totally focused on providing you with an outstanding car care experience – you can watch your car running through the tunnel, and you can even watch your car being detailed – and when you’re waiting for your car to be serviced, we offer free wi-fi to keep you productive, and new cars from local dealers for you to see.
SPA is located at 734 Lancaster Avenue in Berwyn, Pennsylvania. The business was established in 1991 by the owners of Keystone Volvo (see SPA’s History), who custom designed and built a state-of-the-art facility expressly for washing and detailing automobiles. The 100+ ft wash tunnel and four bay detailing garage have stood the test of time and remain unique in the region even today. SPA is the only local, full service, soft cloth car wash with the equipment and resident expertise to keep your car in tip top condition with just routine visits. From our industrial compressors, to our wheel scrubbing and wheel blasting equipment, no other company can clean and maintain your vehicle like SPA.
We’re located at the intersection of Lancaster Avenue and Bridge Streets and Old Lancaster Avenue – you can enter our facility from both directions of Lancaster Avenue and exit in either direction as well.
SPA’s car wash tunnel features industry leading products, which have superior cleaning performance and are environmentally friendly. We have ultra-high pressure blasters to clean your undercarriage, rocker panels and wheels, and we can program the tunnel to process vehicles at variable speeds to help reduce waiting times during peak periods!
SPA has invested in the latest Point of Sale (POS) technology – customer information tracking technology – to simplify your experience when you visit us. Extensive use of bar codes, touch screens, and automated features will speed up vehicle and payment processing. This system features tracking software to record your wash and detail visits, and it enables us to communicate with you as you prefer -to alert you to special offers, provide you with reminders, and just say thanks for coming in!
We are very proud to be the owners of SPA Car Wash and we were intrigued to learn the history of the business and the location here at the intersection of Lancaster Avenue and Bridge Streets. As you can see from the photograph, this location used to be home to The Tilted Lantern and an ARCO gas station. In the late 1980’s, Irv and Jack Stein, the owners of Keystone Volvo of Berwyn and Doylestown purchased the property with the intention of building a car wash and detail center. They spent nearly three years getting township approval for the facility, and in 1991 they opened Keystone Car Wash. They operated the business for several years and then sold the business to a local operator who changed the name to Hollywood Car Wash. The business operated as Hollywood until it was purchased in 1999 by Neil Jain, who changed the name to SPA Car Wash, which still stands today!
