Our car wash tunnel features Balanger automated equipment, the industry’s best, that is configured to clean your car surfaces maximum intensity and coverage. We use McClean chemicals that deliver excellent results through our 100 foot tunnel, with foaming action that removes dirt and grime without scratching. The mitters that touch your car are made from Neoprene, scuba suit material, that can’t scratch your car. We manage the chemistry of the tunnel to an unparalleled extent, from the use of softened water to hydrophobic rinse agents that optimize cleaning and assure spot free results. And we are maniacal about making sure our equipment stays dirt, grit, and grime free, so you’ll never see those notorious swirl marks on your car you’re likely to get at other car washes!
What You Get
Depending on the level you select, Elite, Elite Plus or Elite Platinum, you get a thorough interior cleaning, and all the tunnel express waxes and paint protection we offer. With the Elite Plus you get an additional hand detailing of your wheels that cleans all the way inside the wheel, and with the Elite Platinum we add a hand wax to protect your car’s painted surfaces.
The Elite and Elite Plus will take 20 – 30 minutes, and the Elite Platinum will take 45 minutes to an hour, all depending upon the day of the week and how busy we are.
How it Works
STEP ONE – The Greeting and Prewash
It all starts when you drive right up to the tunnel entrance, get out of your car and speak with our greeter. You select the Elite Wash you prefer and let the greeter know about any specific issues you’re concerned about. While you’re doing that, SPA’s staff are removing your mats, performing an initial vacuum of your car and making sure there’s nothing on your car that could be a problem, like bike racks, toe hitches, antennae, any form of damage, sand or grit in a truck bed, or sap or other unusual filth on the car. Any of these conditions may require remediation and moving the vehicle to the detail bay prior to entering the tunnel. Fabric mats are agitated for cleaning in our mat machines, and rubber mats are power washed. These days, with some electric vehicles, you may be asked to get back in the car and sit as the car goes through the tunnel.
STEP TWO – The Tunnel Process
As your car enters the tunnel, SPA staff spray prewash chemicals for bug removal and power wash the outside with our wash wands including the door jams, by opening each door. Extra dirty areas and white cars are hand scrubbed all over to assure the best results. The car is then transported through the tunnel on our conveyor getting the undercarriage cleaned and then alternatively sprayed with detergents, scrubbed, and rinsed, and scrubbed and rinsed again, before liquid polishes and wax are applied. Hydrophobic solution is then sprayed on, before the car runs through a spot free final rise and is dried with giant air blowers.
STEP THREE – Hand Work
A trained driver then retrieves your car at the end of the tunnel, sprays all the windows with an ammonia free window cleaner and drives it to our drying area. There, another team hand dries any wet surfaces, cleans the door jams and wipes all the interior windows clean.
STEP FOUR – Queue Up
Once the hand work is complete, the car is then moved to a queue area where it awaits a detailing technician who will complete the Elite services. If there is an open slot at the detail bay, it will be moved there directly without the need to queue up. It is important for customers to understand, when the car is in the queue area, it is not complete and should not be driven away!
STEP FIVE – Blow Out and Finish
From the queue area the car is driven over to the detail bay area where the mats are removed and our technician uses industrial strength compressed air to blowout the entire interior of the vehicle. Most people don’t know that it is compressed air and NOT vacuuming that gets the interior deep cleaned! After the blowout the technician vacuums the loose dirt, crumbs and debris. The seats and doors are wiped down with a high end shampoo manufactured by AutoSmart, a product preferred by Aston Martin. Cloth mats are cleaned using shampoo and alcohol and scrubbed with a buffer equipped with stiff brush. ElitePlus washes include a wheel detail that involves hand scrubbing with a brush or sponge, depending on the wheel finish, and an acid solvent that dissolves caked on brake dust. Elite Platinum washes are finished with a hand wax.
